Dr. Arthur Ferreira, the Head of Department of Postgraduate Program in Rehabilitation Sciences of Centro Universitário Augusto Motta, professor of Biostatistics and Biomedical Instrumentation, was graduated in Physical therapy from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in 1999. Dr. Ferreira received both his Master and Doctoral degrees in Biomedical Engineering in 2002 and 2006, respectively. He researched the propagation of the pressure pulse waveform in the arterial system. Dr. Ferreira currently focus in the clinical, scientific research, and teaching of computational models and methods applied to pattern differentiation in Chinese Medicine. He was appointed as the Young Scientist of Rio de Janeiro State in 2012 and 2015.

Dr. Arthur Ferreira currently works as the lead researcher at the Laboratory of Computational Simulation and Modelling in Rehabilitation at the Centro Universitário Augusto Motta (UNISUAM); Member of the Associação Brasileira de Pesquisa e Pós-Graduação em Fisioterapia (ABRAPG-Ft); Member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE); and Senior Editorial Board Member of the Scientific Reports journal.
