Started his medical training in 1982 at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, China. Learned both Western and Chinese Medicine for 6 years. Then he continued for his Master and Ph.D. for another 5 years with the world most famous TCM expert, Professor Dong Jian-hua. He had worked in the affiliated hospital of the university till 1997, then moved to America.

He has been teaching and Practicing Chinese Medicine over 21 years in U.S. Had served twice as a Board member of AAAOM(American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine), Committee members of CCAOM(Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine), and SME member. Site visitor and inspection specialist of ACAOM (Accreditation of Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) , Test writer specialist of NCCAOM(National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine). He has been giving lectures and seminars over 300 times in the state, national and international conferences, include Harvard University and USF. Dr. Tian has been interviewed many times by CCTV and BTV. He published more than 40 professional papers and 20 medical books as an author or co-author.
