Qing-Wen Zhang, PhD

Dr. Zhang graduated from the China Pharmaceutical University with a bachelor degree in Pharmaceutics of Chinese Material Medica in 1995. He finished his doctoral education in Medicinal Chemistry in 2000, under supervision by Prof. Shou-Xun Zhao at the China Pharmaceutical University. Dr. Zhang received a three-year postdoctoral training at the Arizona State University. And then he joined ChromaDex as senior chemist. In 2006, he joined University of Macau. Dr. Zhang’s main research interest is in natural products chemistry including the separation and structural elucidation of bioactive components from herbal medicine, especially from the herbal medicine in Lingnan region, development of quality control methods for Chinese Medicine as well as modification of bioactive natural products. He has published more than 100 SCI paper in natural products or related fields.
