Professor Byung-Cheul Shin is a professor of the School of Korean medicine, Pusan National University and the director of Pusan National University Korean Medicine Hospital. He is also a clinical professor in the spine & Joint center and a research professor in the National Clinical Research Center for Korean Medicine (NCRC), Korean Medicine Hospital, Pusan National University. He is actively involving the Spine & Joint Center, rehabilitation medicine clinic, and Injuries & Squelae Clinic as a clinical professor and clinical researcher. He is also serving as a president of the Chuna Manual Medicine for spine & Nerves from 2012 and is conducting the research of ‘Evidence creation for Chuna manual medicine’ from 2015 May to 2018 May from the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) for creating evidence of Chuna manual medicine.

Prof. Byung-Cheul Shin’s area of research is mainly focused on evidence-based medicine for traditional Korean/Chinese medicine, integrative medicine for spine & joint diseases, pain medicine, Cochrane (or systematic) review and meta-analysis for integrative medicine, and clinical trials for traditional Korean medicine. He has over 15 years of experience of clinical research in the fields of musculoskeletal/spine disorders. He has published more than 150 scientific publication related to Korean medicine. His research interests He is specially interested in clinical trials of Korean medicine and integrative medicine. He is researching the development of clinical practice guideline for Traffic Injuries of Korean Medicine and Evidence-based Clinical research (2016-2020).
