Prof. Ji is a chief physician, professor and supervisor for PhD students in the field of Traditional Chinese Internal Medicine in Longhua Hospital Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He is now the Vice Committee Secretary of Communist Party of China of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He also attends several national and international academic associations. He is now the Vice President of digestive diseases committee of the world federation of Chinese medicine, Vice chairman of the expert committee of integrative Chinese and western medicine of Chinese medical association, Vice President of integrative Chinese and western medicine of Shanghai medical association, and Director of the Specialty Committee of Liver Disease, Shanghai Association of Chinese Integrative Medicine.
Prof. Ji has been engaged in clinical and scientific research work of prevention and treatment of digestive diseases by traditional Chinese medicine. His researches especially focus on the pathogenesis of liver metabolism in combination with TCM theory and therapy, which have been supported by 20 key foundation grants, such as the National Science and Technology Major Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, National High-tech R&D Program of China (863 Program), International Cooperative Research Project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, etc.
As the corresponding author, Prof. Ji has published 70 papers in the journals of SCI source publication, and 3 professional guide books as the chief editor. He was the recipient of National Key Talent Project, New Century Talents of Education Ministry, Leading talent of Shanghai, etc. He has researched and developed two new medicines, and was awarded "National Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contribution", as well as 7 scientific and technological progress prizes of Shanghai or national ministry as the first contributor. He is the chief editor of TCM, vice editor of Journal of Integrative Medicine, International Journal of Integrative Medicine, and member of editorial board of Austin Journal of Endocrine and Diabetes, World Journal of Gastroenterology.
