Prof. Pei-Yong Zheng is the Vice President of Longhua Hospital Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He finished his postdoctoral education in 2008. He is the professor and mentor for graduate students in the field of Traditional Chinese Internal Medicine. Besides his multiple roles devoted to research and education, he also attends several national and international organizations. Prof. Zheng is the Deputy Director of the Specialty Committee of Digestive Disease, Shanghai Association of Chinese Integrative Medicine; Executive Council Member of the Specialty Committee of Technical specifications for postmarketing evaluation in Chinese medicine of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) and Executive Council Member of Chinese Medicine Division in China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health Care (CPAM).
Prof. Zheng’s clinical and basic research mainly focused on applying Traditional Chinese Medicine to digestive diseases. His research is funded by 12 different foundation grants, including National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), China Postdoctoral Science Foundation and Shanghai Committee of Science and Technology, China. As one of the primary researchers, he also participated in National Key Technology Research and Development Program of China during the “10th Five-Year Plan”, National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (Program No. 863) and Major State Basic Research Development Program of China (Program No. 973). He has published more than 70 articles in various medical journals and 5 exclusive books. Because of his outstanding contributions, he is awarded 8 science prizes such as ‘Prize for Progress of Science and Technology of Shanghai’ and ‘Prize for Progress of Science and Technology of Education Ministry of China’.
